A series of great appointments will characterize the 2012 season of the South Garda Karting circuit of Lonato, beginning with the opening race, the Winter Cup, scheduled next year from 17th to 19th February (entries open on 12th December 2011 and close on 12th January 2012). This is the 17th edition of the race, which has definitely entered the Hall of Fame of the most important events of international karting.
As usual, the 17th Winter Cup is open to the participation of the international categories KZ2, KF2 and KF3. The programme starts with free practice and scrutinering from Thursday 16th February; on Friday 17th the time trials, qualifying sessions and qualifying heats. Saturday 18th February is entirely dedicated to qualifying heats, while on Sunday 19th February in schedule there are the second chance heats, the pre-finals and the finals.
A novelty in the 2012 Winter Cup is represented by the Unilog system (in collaboration with CSAI), for abetter and more precise management of the engine revolutions and of the clutch data for the KF2 and KF3 categories.
The 2012 calendar of races of the South Garda Karting circuit is richer than usual thanks to other two important events which are taking place on the North Italian track for the first time: the 23rd Andrea MarguttiTrophy (KZ2, KF2, KF3, 60 Mini) in schedule next 25th March 2012 and the 41st Trofeo delle Industrie (KZ2, KF2, KF3, 60 Mini) on 21st October 2012.
For the second year in a row the South Garda Karting is also hosting a round of the Italian CSAI Karting Championship; the fourth round of the Italian event is in schedule for next 2nd September with the KZ2, KF2, KF3, 60 Mini and 60 Baby categories.
Among the top events of the season, in 2012 the South Garda Karting Circuit is once again the venue of the important ROK CUP INTERNATIONAL FINAL, international race with more than 300 drivers coming from all around the world.
Other important events for the 2012 season: the two rounds of the Trofeo Primavera (26th February, valid for the Rok Cup Championship, and 11th March), the Championkart Trophy (1st April), the Night Race of the Trofeo del Garda (8th July, valid for the CSAI cup and the Rok Cup Championship), the Vega Trophy (22nd July), besides two more rounds of the Trofeo d’Autunno (23rd September and 7th October).
At the end of the season the other important international event with the Bridgestone Cup Final, on 28th October.
