Brooks went out hard for the first few laps of the
final, gaining a healthy advantage over the field before kicking it
into cruise mode for his first victory of the 2012 season. Sunday was
a near repeat with Brooks again completing the sweep. BRK Energy team
driver Royal McKee joined Brooks both days on the podium with 3rd and
2nd place finishes. The BRK Energy team held 2/3rds of the Gatorz
Challenge podiums on both days in Mini Max. Garrett Gulenchyn also
scored a pair of top tens for BRK Energy.
It was a good showing for the team, said Buddy Rice. We
are learning more and more about the Energy chassis with every on
track session, but with 3 wins on the weekend we are off to a good
start. We had a little bad luck in the Senior classes, but Travis
Lowe was in the hunt in International and John Wallace bounced back
with a 3rd in Sunday's DD2. Overall I'm pleased and looking forward
to the Phoenix race.
Energy did well in Micro Max as well
with Derek DesLauriers aboard his BRK Energy scoring the pole on
Saturday and finishing it off with a win in the final. Jacob Hudson
was under the BRK tent with Black flag Racing and proved his worth
with 2nd place finishes in both 18 lap main events.
John Wallace III flew the flag for BRK
in DD2 competition. Saturday didn't go as planned, but Wallace drove
a fantastic final on Sunday to earn himself and BRK 3rd place and a
trip to the world famous Gatorz podium.
