| ROK TECHNICAL WORKSHOP 2012 |
The cold cold weather did not prevent the traditional Technical Workshop 2012 to take place. On February 4th, the workshop in the tenth year of age of the Rok Cup was held in the very new Vortex factory headquarters, in Pavia (Italy), a great location.

The technical meeting 2012 hosted international fellows, other than the CSAI technical
representative, the Manager of the Polish championship, Mr. Oscik and the PZM Technical
representative of the Polish karting Federation, Mr. Marek Chmielewski were also present
as well as the American representative, Mr. John Motley, coming from across the ocean.
The attendance to the Rok Technical Workshop of not only Italian representatives means a
huge sign and the first step to further widen during the next years, the synergy built
until now.
The representatives showed to be, as always, very sharp in focusing the attention to some
particular aspects of the working at the track. Vortex, managed by Mr. Giovanni Corona,
by the understanding of the matters discussed, will have now the task to make their
technical work, as much efficacious as possible.

“We are glad to have met all these qualified representatives. Even though the weather
was bad, all of them did their best to be present, moreover we also had with us
representatives from USA and Poland. A very important point which allowed us to compare
different experiences coming from different Rok championships in order to better evaluate
specific solutions.”
What about the opportunity to have even more foreign representatives in future meetings?
“Well, it would be great and important both to us and to all the Countries where
the Rok Cup takes place since it allows, as we’ve seen today with the Polish and US
representatives, to focus and solve specific needs. It couldn’t be possible to work this
way without a direct meeting with the people involved”
How much is important to meet technical representatives?
“It is very important indeed. Since ten years, on its birthday we may say, technical
rules of all Rok categories haven’t been changing. By this we are able to perfect and
improve any item. Moreover technical representatives can easily check engines comply with
all regulations. This meeting further allow to better find the right balance in any Rok
categories, at any level and in any Country.”
This is the Workshop was held in a special location, the new Vortex headquarter, at the
tenth year of age of the Rok Cup.
“Yes, for this reason too, it was a special event. We met and discuss both around a
table, with regulations to hand, and in the factory, where they could see how Rok engines
are manufactured and how the manufacturing process takes place.
Huge passionate of engines as the Technical representatives are, they showed to be
highly interested and we could understand through the expert questions they did, their
preparation and high level in the knowledge of this field. The meeting has been important
and positive and we are satisfied with this result, obtained in such bad weather
conditions” |
