ROK CUP INTERNATIONAL FINAL 2005 - Allemann and Ellinas Rokker world champions!!!

Allemann and Ellinas became world champions in the track at Lonato during the ROK CUP INTERNATIONAL FINAL 2005, CIK FIA event in which about 100 drivers from over 20 countries from all over the world took part. At the end of a series of very competitive and correct races the two drivers presented their countries, Switzerland and Cyprus, with the Rok world champions titles.
The Junior race was a dual between Ellinas and the Japanese driver Hiramine, right from the start the two built up a gap between themselves and the others and duelled for the lead for the 16 laps of the final.
The third from the last lap was the decider, the Cypriot Eftychios Ellinas performed a perfect manoeuvre and overtook his Japanese rival, Hiramine maintained contact and during the final lap he risked everything by braking at the last minute at the curve in front of the box area. The manoeuvre did not come off and Ellinas regained the lead and was the champion.
Also the Rok Cup Senior was a race between two contenders, the protagonists were Ken Alleman and Leeroy Poulter. Following a brief rush by the Czechoslovakian Hajek , Hallemann and Poulter took the lead
The Swiss driver rapidly took a 2 second lead over the second driver and by driving faultlessly was able to claim the victory. The South African Poulter did everything possible not to fall behind the leader but all attempts were in vain and Ken Alleman, mindful of the unfortunate experience of the previous year, kept up his concentration and won the race and title.
A good third was Wangard, but worthy of mention were Ruggiero and Perasso, both hindered in the semi-final and the only two to drop below 45 seconds in the final.
The Vroom Cup, for those excluded from the final, was won by the Italian Luca Pizzico.

Ken Allemann: “For me it was a difficult race due to the experience lived the year before. Last year I was among the leaders and could have won and I had an accident and everything was lost.
This year I set my pace and concentrated only on my driving, when I looked back I saw I had a good margin. At that point I concentrated further and succeeded in maintaining my advantage. Obviously I am very happy with the result”.

Ellias Eftychios: “It was a hard race and I didn’t give Hiramine an inch. We overtook each other several times, but in the end I managed to keep the lead. The Japanese driver overtook me on the next to the last lap and I replied immediately by overtaking him and won the race. To win after such a hard fought race is even more satisfying”.

Kazuki Hiramine: “I gave everything I could in the last lap, at the box curve, I took the lead but braked late went wide and Eftychios overtook me again. I am pleased and hope to be here in Europe again next year to have further experience with the Crg. I want to learn English and Italian to better my relationship with the team technicians and mechanic”.

The third edition of the ROK Finals has now been filed away and the overall balance is flattering from all points of view. The Rokkers were impeccable and took part in the races with the right mix of enthusiasm and competitive spirit. Everybody, drivers and team members all expressed their eagerness for the days of sport spent on the track at Lonato. They all appreciated the gala evening held on Saturday and the presence of the RACEWORLD television group, present around the track wit a TV truck and 8 cameramen which enabled the drivers to be interviewed and round tables with participants and organisers to be held.
The show given by the great champions during the pause before the finals was greeted with great enthusiasm. And for the occasion, Davide Forè, Marco Ardigò and two champions of the recent past ,Johnny Mislijevic and Danilo Rossi took part in a mini-race.
An exceptional FINAL which once again, thanks to the support of the sponsors SPARCO, DELL’ORTO, BRIDGESTONE, VROOM CLUB, and the 3 makers BIREL, CRG and TONY KART, the participants were given a moment to remember, an occasion to evaluate and take up a challenge, drivers coming from different experiences brought together in a unique, great competition.
