BIREL: The New 2007 Monza range

The Monza range represents one of the main Birel novelties for 2007. The two chassis for the 100 and 125 classes have been completely renewed both technically and in terms of design, with the idea of making them an alternative with a great quality-cost ratio for top karting events. To achieve this goal, Birel’s technical department has been working hard on the development of the 2007 chassis. But within the Monza range the novelties are not limited to the top versions, mainly destined for the Cik categories: the range was expanded to include two models for the very young, a basic chassis for National categories and a specific solution for the Rotax DD2 Trophy. Basically a complete range was created which, in commercial terms, will also entail a specific sales network and dedicated promotional initiatives. The Monza range will be characterised by an attractive look, both in terms of livery of the frames, which will sport the blue and orange colours, and in the design of its single accessories and components. To promote this range a new internet site has also been launched: www.monzaracingkart.com.

THE NOVELTIES
Up to last year the Monza range comprised 2 models, one for the 100 class, one for the 125. Both had traditional chassis and were mostly aimed at national markets. The novelties for 2007 are mainly strategic: the two top chassis (100 and 125) have been completely renewed and will aim at making a niche for themselves also in the Cik races, while maintaining a great quality-price ratio. The central and front section of the bodywork have been radically changed by applying geometries reminiscent of Birel’s «R» line. The result in terms of performance is great adaptability to tyres of various compounds and the ability to maintain an excellent general balance in all track conditions.
There is an immediate feeling with the new Monza, with a simple standard trim the limit can be reach straight away and, at the same time, thanks to a great responsiveness to adjustments, the set-up can be easily customised according to the driver’s requirements.
The novelties will also concern the expansion of the range to include all market segments, from the junior classes with the models Z B-28 and Z C-28, to the two models for National (Z R-30) and Rotax (ZX 32-RX) classes. To this purpose, Birel’s technical department has exploited the remarkable experience gained in these specific sectors and has managed to propose effective solutions with an excellent purchase price.

MONZA 100
The bodywork is made with 32 mm rails and features a traditional design which adapts well to dry track conditions, which is usually the case in top races. Birel’s engineers focussed their work on the general balance of the chassis, which counts among its strengths great smoothness and mid-turn support. A further characteristic of the Monza chassis is its excellent responsiveness to adjustments, thanks to which it can adapt to the driver’s
preferences and to the track’s conditions.
This model features HQ Freeline accessories, the possibility of choosing between a 40 and 50 axle, two standard stabilising bars, plus a further optional bar for the rear. It also features standard aluminium rims, and last generation Cik 03 frame with a kit of blue and orange Pvc stickers.
MONZA 125
The bodywork design is equivalent to one employed for the 100 model basically has the same characteristics. The development implemented by Birel’s racing department has resulted in an ideal solution for top National and International races in which having a chassis which responds adjustments but which also gives a high basic performance is very important. In terms of general set-up, driving gives a feel of an easilyfound balance between front and rear, as as ease of braking and traction, these being critical characteristics in the 125 cc classes.
Naturally the equipment also features brakes the front, HQ Freeline accessories, steering wheel in Monza silver colour and the possibility to choose either the 40 or the 50 axle. frame is last generation Cik 03, complete a kit of blue and orange Pvc stickers.

Z B-28
Originating from the technical specifications of the new 60 Baby Kart promoted by the Italian ASN, it is generally aimed at very young drivers aged between 7 and 9. From a technical point of view, this model is aimed at the top level of the reference segment; it offers great frontal grip, but maintains at the same time an efficient balance despite the fact that the general compound of the tyres is hard. This model features an attractive design and a hydraulic braking system with 150 mm disc.

Z C-28
This is aimed at the «Mini» and «Cadet» classes, from 9 to 12 years. Its performance is very high on all types of tracks and allows young drivers to easily identify the best set-up. The chassis has 28 mm rails and HQ Freeline accessories, a 30 mm axle and, for those championships in which this is allowed, two optional torsion bars can be fitted, one at the front and one at the rear. This model features a frame complete with a safe and effective rear bumper and a hydraulic braking system with «C» calliper and 150 mm disc, the same used at the front in the 125 cc classes.

Z R-30
This conventional model is very responsive to adjustment, thus guaranteeing high performance on all types of tracks and adapting also to different types of tyres. The chassis has 30 and 32 mm rails, is characterised by the fact that it remains very «free» - thus emphasising the engine’s performance - and offers very precise cornering while not upsetting the balance with the back. It is an ideal model for very young drivers but it can also be suitable for perfectionists. This is one of the best technical solutions for the National Trophies and the Rotax classes.

ZX 32-RX ROTAX DD2
This model is dedicated to the Rotax DD2 single-brand events, which provide for the use of the Austrian two-speed engine and direct transmission on the axle. To this purpose a specific bodywork has been made with mixed 30 and 32 mm rails. The resulting product is very effective and features great balance. It offers great cornering grip and an easily-found set-up. This model features HQ Freeline accessories, aluminium rims and a hydraulic braking system with «C» calliper and self-ventilating 200 mm disc.
