By winning the first two Races of the World KF1 Championship on Saturday at the Suzuka circuit, the Italian Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart-Vortex) has already clearly stated his ambitions for the world title. Twice second, the Japanese driver Daiki Sasaki (Kosmic-Vortex) thrilled his local supporters with his fine performances while the Polish driver Karol Basz (Birel-BMB) and the Italian Felice Tiene (CRG-BMB) also stepped onto the podium.

Over two days, the 35 drivers competing in the World KF1 Championship have been preparing for the first round of the 2012 season. On the fast Suzuka circuit, each of them has been trying to find the best set-up before tackling the two days of racing. Between professional drivers and young pretenders, and also between Europeans and Asians, the battle is shaping up to be a tough one! In the pack are three drivers looking for another world title: Davide For�, Arnaud Kozlinski and Matthew Graham.

Ben Barnicoat and Martin Kodric starred in the two MSA British Championship classes whilst other favourites faltered. Some huge battles, and huge disappointments entertained in the other classes on what was thankfully a dry weekend with plenty sunshine on Sunday. The Super Cadet class was dropped due to insufficient entries.  Track action was recorded for both Mobil One �The Grid�, following the three Indian �One in a Billion� drivers, and for Sedmabrzina TV covering Croatian Martin Kodric.

A little more than six months after crowning Nyck De Vries, the Suzuka circuit will host again the World KF1 Championship from 17 to 20 May. This time the Japanese track will be the scene of the first event of a competition which will see the fight between Karting stars and very ambitious young Drivers. In addition to the World KF1 Championship, the Asia-Pacific KF2 Championship should also provide a good show.
